What this body is

An 8-member body appointed by City Council. It has final decision authority on site plans and plats, and advises Council on the Comprehensive Plan and on zoning and rezoning (Council decides rezonings). A resident with a nearby development or zoning matter deals with this body first.

How to attend and speak

Meets the 1st and 3rd Monday (Tuesday if Monday is a holiday), regular meeting 6 p.m., in the Senator Florence Shapiro Council Chambers, 1520 K Avenue. Attend in person, or watch on Facebook, YouTube or Plano TV live. To speak, register online at Plano.gov/SpeakerRegistration: it opens 5 p.m. the Friday before and closes 4 p.m. on the meeting day. Comments on a zoning case may also go through Share.Plano.gov/ZoningResponse. Material for the Commission goes to PZcomments@plano.gov; the city's two P&Z pages state different deadlines for it ("at least two hours prior" on this page, "by noon the day of the meeting" with 15 copies of any hard copy on the agendas page).
